Biography :

Enlisted in the Leicester Military District into the Leicestershire Regiment, 1898. Served with 1st Bn in Transvaal, South Africa in 1902. Was serving as Lance Corporal in United Kingdom with 'A' Company 1st Bn in 1909-1910. Later served with 2nd in World War One. Wounded 1.5.1915 but did not quit the Battalion. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 15.5.1915. He is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
