Enlisted at Birmingham, Warwickshire. Served with the 1/4th Bn during World War One. Wounded on 21.2.17 in France and Flanders campaign and died from those wounds on 4.3.1917, aged 39. Formerly 3657 Leicestershire Yeomanry. He is buried at Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, France.
He was the dramatic critic for the Birmingham Daily Mail and a versatile journalist.
