Home address given as Nottinhgamshire. Enlisted 1.6.1932 in the Regular Army Leicestershire Regiment for 7 years service and 5 in the Reserve. Was serving in the Regiment as at 1.9.1939. Awarded the M.M. as a Section Commander, 2/5th Leicesters, Volturno River, Italy, 16 Oct 1943 (L.G. 24.2.1944) and a Bar as Platoon Commander, 2/5th Leicesters, Calabritto, Italy, 1-4 Dec 1943 (L.G. 9.3.1944). Killed in Italy on 12.2.1944 - twelve days before his first M.M. was gazetted. He is buried in Minturno War Cemetery, Italy.
