Biography :

Enlisted at Leicester aged 17 years 10 months on 25.8.1925 in the Territorial Army Leicestershire Regiment and re-enlisted 30.12.1929 in the Regular Army Leicestershire Regiment for 7 years service and 5 in reserve. Later served in World War Two. included Italy and North Africa. Discharged 17.6.1947 but re-enlisted in 5th Battalion (T.A.) one day later. Awarded Elizabeth II Efficiency Medal (Territorial Bar). Listed as Colour Sergeant with 5th Bn in 1956. His 1939-1945 campaign medals and medal are in the collection of Leicester City Museums Service. See also Harding, Alfred who served in World War One.
