Somewhere in France

Somewhere in France, in a nameless grave
Lie mothers' sons, the bravest of the brave
No last post was sounded and no shot were fired,
But they have gained the crown, which is by all desired

No gun carriage bore them to their resting place
No Union Jack to cover their face
But still they are England's heroes, they are the best

That these blest sons of Britain, still make to all

Now mothers whose sons have died out there
Be prepared to meet them, in that land so fair
And fathers too must try to obey the call
For their sons in heaven beckon to all

The prayer now arises, God Bless Our Land,
We lean on thee, we grasp thy hand,
That will lead us to that Heaven above
Where all is joy, for God is Love
