Biography :
Born 1894, in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire and named as Joseph Arthur, but always known as Arthur. Served with the 2nd Bn during World War One, and appointed temporary Lance Corporal 10th Jan 1916 and 15th Jan 1916. transferred to (622385) Labour Corps. Died on 21st Feb 1919 in the 5th Northern General Hospital, Leicester of influenza and pneumonia. He is buried at Leicester (Belgrave) Cemetery (Plot D.194).
Son of Joseph and Hannah Getliffe, brother of Ethel Mary and Elsie Getliffe.
