Biography :

Ingram Ford was commissioned 2Lt in 3rd Bn The Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire Regiment) on 7.2.1900. Transferred in the rank of Lt to The Leicestershire Regiment on 26.1.1901, Was serving as Lieutenant with 2nd Bn in 1901. Serving at the Depot in 1905, and rejoined 2nd Bn in 1906 and proceeded with it to India. Joined 1st Bn in 1907, and promoted captain on 15.6.1907. Serving with the 3rd Bn in 1911. Later as Captain served with the 1st Bn in France from 1914 until at least 1.1.1915. Transferred to 6th Bn. Promoted temp Major 1.6.1916. Badly wounded at the battle of Bazentin le Petit in mid-July 1916. Left 6th Bn on 6.4.1917. Promoted temp Lt Col as Officer in Charge of an Infantry Record Office 18.1.1918-1.8.1920. Believed to have served in the Home Guard in Southern England in WW2. Died 17.11.1971.
