Biography :

Enlisted in 1900 for the East Yorkshire Regiment. After seven years service as a regular soldier and five years in the reserve, Private Dyer was discharged. He re-enlisted in 1914 with the Northamptonshire Regiment, but was later transferred to the Regiment, and was serving with the 2nd Bn in 1915. His World War One campaign medals are in the collection of Leicester City Museums Service.
