Biography :
From Officer Training Unit Sandhurst, Francis Dubery was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in The Leicestershire Regiment on 25.2.1940. Served in World War Two with the 1/5th Bn Leicestershire Regiment ('C' Wing 148 pre-O.C.T.U. Training Establishment), where he was Adjutant from July 1942 to June 1943. Promoted Major 1944. He was awarded a Mention in Despatches for his work as DAA&QMG, HQ 3rd Para Bde, in NW Europe (L.G. 8.11.1945). He transferred to the Army Air Corps on 1.5.1947. Capbadged Glider Pilot and Parachute Corps (TA) he was awarded the M.B.E. as DAA&QMG, HQ 44th Para Bde (TA), London, 1947-50 (L.G. 1.1.1951). He was awarded the Territorial Decoration on 8.9.1953. He was promoted Major on 22.6.1954 He was awarded the 1st Clasp to the TD on 1.7.1957. Appointed Major in the TA Reserve of Officers on 1.10.1958.
He died in 1974, aged 54 years.
