Biography :

Ernest Crow enlisted at Hinckley, Leicestershire. Served with the 1/5th Bn in World War One, entering France on 27.2.1915. Awarded the M.M. for a particularly brave signalling act (London Gazette 18.06.1917 page 7277). He Died of Wounds in France on 5.6.1918, aged 23. He is buried at the Pernes British Cemetry, Pas de Calais, France. His name was originally missed off Hinckley War Memorial but was added in October 2005. His name appears on Nuneaton War Memorial.
