Biography :
'Sid' Cox enlisted in The Royal Warwickshire Regiment in the Second World War. He was awarded the M.M. whilst serving as an Acting Sergeant in 'A' Company 1st Bn The Royal Leicestershire Regiment in the attack on objective 'United' during the battle of Maryang-San on 5.11.1951 in the Korea War. He was killed in a battle accident in Korea on 21.12.1951, aged 30.
In the Regimental Chapel in Leicester Cathedral his name is recorded on the Roll of Honour of those of 1st R Leicesters who lost their lives during operations in Korea 1951-52. His name is similarly listed on The Armed Forces Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, Staffs.
