Biography :
John Corbett enlisted on 13.6.1940. Served with the 1/5th Bn Leicestershire Regiment ('C' Wing 148 pre-O.C.T.U. Training Establishment). Later served with the 1st Bn, and was awarded the M.M. for leading his platoon although wounded in the leg, during an operation at Brembosch, Belgium, on 25.10.1944 (L.G. 1.3.1945). Released Class 'A' 4.2.1946 and Class 'Z' (T) Army Reserve 2.4.1946.
