Biography :
Enlisted at Leicester, 17.7.1897 and served with the Regiment in South Africa and India until discharged 11.3.1910. Re-enlisted 4.9.1914 and served with the 10th Battalion during World War One until transferred as Sgt, and later Sgt Master Cook 16380 to the Northumberland Fusiliers. Died from a type of stroke at Cannock Chase Military Hospital, Staffordshire, 1.2.1918, aged 40. He is buried at Leicester (Gilroes) Cemetery, Leicestershire.
