Biography :

Miles Brown was a graduate of the Royal Military College, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, from which he was commissioned into The Leicestershire Regiment on 16.9.1914. He joined 1st Bn in the field on 14.11.1914. He transferred to 2nd Bn as a Lt, joining the Battalion in the field on 3.7.1915. Placed on sick list 17.7.1915, and rejoined 27.7.1915. Killed in action during the Battle of Loos, on 25.9.1915, age 20. He is buried at the Rue-du-Bacquerot No.1 Military Cemetery, Laventie, Pas de Calais, France.
