Biography :

Born and enlisted in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire. Served with F Company, 1/5th Bn inFrance and Belgium and on 25.9.1915 was injured with gunshot wounds to the thigh. Eventually evacuated back to England and whilst recovering in Louth, he fell into the River Ludd on 27.10.1916 and drowned. He is buried at Louth Cemetery, Lincolnshire.
