Biography :
Enlisted at Leicester. Served with Leicestershire Regiment as Acting Corporal during World War One. As a Private he is mentioned in the 10th Bn No5 section B company Roll book. Also served as Acting Corporal 4966 with Machine Gun Corps. According a private source he transferred to the 62nd Machine Gun Company, and died of wounds as a Corporal 4966 on the Somme on 15th July 1916, aged 39. He is buried at Daours Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. He was awarded the Military Medal.
