Biography :

Home address given as Leicester. Before enlistment worked in Freeman, Hardy and Willis Shoe Factory. Enlisted in 1940. Served with 2nd Battalion in Palestine, The Western Desert including Tobruk, El Alamein and Benghazi, Crete then later, Burma the Chindits. At some point was invalided sick to Cairo. Returned to the United Kingdom October 27th 1944. Was then stationed near Coventry. Posted to France in 1945. Demobbed March 1946. His campaign medals are in the collection of Leicester City Service.
