Biography :

Charles Booth was commissioned as 2nd Lieut on 20.6.1940, and served at the Depot during the early stages of the 2nd World War. He then served with the 7th Battalion from 4.7.1940 to the merger with the 2nd Battalion at Bangalore in December 1944. His service with the 7th Bn included the United Kingdom, India and Burma. He commanded a Company of 47 Column of 7th Bn on the Second Chindit Expedition in Burma April-August 1944, and he was awarded the Military Cross (L.G. 26.4.1945). In late 1944 he took over command of a Jungle Warfare Training School in India. He died in about 1967-68.
