Home given as Melton, Leicestershire. Attested 2.9.1914 and served with the 1st Battalion during World War One, entering France 29.7.1915. Discharged 15.08.1918. with the Silver War Badge in addition to his other medals. Died of wounds in United Kingdom 17.11.1919, aged 21. He is buried at Melton Mowbray (Thorpe Road) Cemetery, Leicestershire.
