Biography :

William Allison enlisted in The Leicestershire Regiment on 4.1.1938. He later served in World War Two in 2nd Bn. He was awarded the Military Medal for great courage and devotion to duty whilst acting as a stretcher bearer and tending the wounded under fire astride the Damascus-Beirut Road in Syria on 11.7.1941 (He carried on duty even after a shrapnel wound to his leg.) (L.G. 12.2.1942). He was released from the Army on 22.2.1946.
