Biography :
Educated at Oundle School, Gerald Adam joined the Manchester University O.T.C. in January 1917, and after service as Private 76064 in The Royal Welsh Fusiliers, he was commissioned into 3rd (Reserve) Battalion The Leicestershire Regiment on 28.5.1918. In June 1918 he was attached to 13th Bn The Yorkshire Regiment and with them went to Russia in Feb 1919. In May 1919 he was appointed Intelligence and Code Officer on Colonel Lavie's Staff. He died of dysentery on active service in Northern Russia in 1919, aged 20 years.
He is commemorated on the Archangel Monument, Russian Federation.
