Acland, Wroth Palmer

Biography :
Joined the 17th Regiment as Ensign in 1787, promoted Lieutenant in 1790 and Captain in 1791 before being placed on half-pay until the outbreak of war with France. He was appointed to the 3rd Regiment (Buffs) in May 1793. He purchased the of the 19th regiment in and in 1796 accompanied his Regiment to Ceylon. In 1799 became Lieutenant-Colonel in 2nd (Coldstream) Guards and in 1808 appointed Brigadier General. He died on 8.3.1816 from a recurrence of fever.
