Served with 2nd Bn in World War One, entering France on 19.3.1915. Sick to Hospital 7.7.1915. Rejoined from hospital 28.7.1915. Wounded in action on 25.9.1915, and died the same day, aged 34. He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
