Biography :
Colin Ladley joined the 1st Bn The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment in 1951, serving with them, 1st Bn The 3rd East Anglian Regiment and 3rd R Anglian for fifteen years from Private to Company Sergeant Major. He was Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant of 4th R ANGLIAN 1967-69, in Malta, Gillingham and Bahrain. He was granted a Short Service Commission on 21.10.1969 as a Lt, serving with 3rd R ANGLIAN in Cyprus and Germany. He was promoted Capt on 21.10.1971. He retired from the Army on 2.5.1976 and was granted the Hon rank of Major. His twenty-five years of service was spent solely in Infantry Battalions.
He died in 2019, aged 88 years.
