A member of The Sherwood Foresters, Frank Lawrence was CSM B Coy 1st Bn The Royal Leicestershire Regiment in Korea and due heavy officer casualties at the battle of Maryang-San in Nov 1951 for a time he took over command of the company. He was awarded a Mention in Despatches (L.G. 29.4.1952).
