Biography :

Educated at Marshalswick Secondary Modern School, St Albans, Rhett (‘Corky’) Corcoran joined the Army as a Junior Soldier in 1972 (Regtl No. 24298744), and was trained in Tiger Company 4th R Anglian at The Junior Infantrymen’s Wing at Canterbury and in 1974 at the Junior Infantry Battalion at Shorncliffe. Served in 3rd R Anglian from 1974 to 1990, then transferring to Adjutant General’s Corps, and to Military Provost Staff (MPS) at the Military Corrective Training Centre to the rank of WO2. He was commissioned 2Lt in the AGC (Staff & Personnel Support) on 22.8.1997 (Regtl No. 547361). Transferred back to AGC (MPS) on 3.2.1999. Awarded the M.B.E. for his work as OC Detention Operations in Kosovo 1.10.1999-31.3.2000 (L.G. 3.11.2000). Promoted Major on 31.7.2003, and granted a Regular Commission on 1.1.2006. Awarded Long Service & Good Conduct medal in 1990, and Clasp in 2010.
Retired from the Army on 31.3.2013, and became the R Anglian’s Assistant Regimental Secretary (Project & Communications).
