Biography :

Enlisted at Lincoln 28.4.1939 into the 60th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery. Awarded the M.M. while serving in the BEF in Belgium for actions as a Lance Sergeant detachment commander in 60th Anti-Tank Field Regt RA at Houthem on 27.5.1940 (L.G. 28.8.1940). Subsequently commissioned in the RA and served as a Lt and Captain in the Support Platoon 71 Column of 2nd Leicesters in the Chindits in Burma 1944. He left 2nd Bn in late 1944 and the Army in approx 1946.
