Biography :
Educated at Oakham School and RMA Sandhurst, David James was commissioned into The Royal Leicestershire Regiment on 2.8.1963 and served in its 1st Bn and in 4th R Anglian till 1968. OC Army Youth Team in Norwich, and retired from Regular Army on 16.1.1972. He joined 6th R Anglian (TAVR) as a captain on 20.1.1972. Lt Col Mar 1981, and CO 6th R Anglian (V) 1981-84 for which he was awarded the O.B.E. (L.G. 30.12.1983) and awarded the T.D. on 3.9.1984. Promoted Colonel 1.10.1986 and served until early 1990s.
