Leslie Hunt spent most of his career in The Royal Military Police, during which service he was awarded the M.B.E. for his work as Permanent Staff Officer, 49 Div/Dist Pro Coy RMP (TA), Leicester, 1953-66 (L.G. 10.6.67). He was Permanent Staff Officer of The Royal Leicestershire Regiment (Territorial) 1967-69.
