Commissioned into 18th Royal Garhwal Rifles, Indian Army. Awarded M.B.E. as Brigade Major, HQ 63rd Indian Infantry Brigade, Burma, Feb 44-May 1945 (L.G. 17.1.146). Transferred to R Leicesters in 1947. Joined RARO 1.6.1949, and finally retired 1956.
