As a Colonel he was awarded O.B.E. as Senior Medical Officer, HQ Sousse Area, Tunisia (L.G. 11.11.1943) and Mentioned in Despatches for his work as Assistant Director Medical Services, HQ 57 Area, Italy, 1944 (L.G. 11.1.1945).
