Biography :

Son of Alfred and Jane Yeomans, of 51, Woolpack Lane,Nottingham; husband of Mary Emma Alice Yeomans, of Kent Rd., Porchester Estate, Mapperley, Nottingham. Home address given as Mapperley, Nottinghamshire. Enlisted at Nottingham. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 7.10.1917, aged 35. He is commemorated on Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

From Notts County Council website. Private Alfred Yeomans enlisted on 8th December 1915 at Nottingham. He gave his age as 32 yrs and 3 months , his address was Kent Road, Mapperley, Nottingham and his occupation was that of a nurseryman and florist, his next of kin was his wife Mary Emma Alice of the same address. He was transferred to the reserves the following day and on 16th June 1916 he was mobilised and posted to the 9th battalion Leicestershire Regiment. On 16th November 1916 he embarked at Folkstone and the following day joined the British Expeditionary Force in France.
