Biography :

Home address given as Sileby, Leicestershire. Enlisted at Loughborough. Served with the 1st Bn during World War One. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 18.12.1915, aged 30. He is buried at White House Cemetery, St. Jean-Les-Ypres, Ieper, Belgium.

Enlisted with the 3rd Bn in 1901 and served in South Africa in 1902. On his return to the UK he purchased his discharge, but shortly afterwards re-enlisted in the 1st Bn transferred to the 2nd with which he served in India. In 1906 he returned to the UK and was transferred to the reserve. Mobilised in 1914 he went to France with the 1st Bn in September. On 18.12.1915 he was killed in action and is buried at White House Cemetery, St Jean-les-Ypres, Ypres, Belgium.
