Enlisted at Hinckley, Leicestershire. Served with the 7th Bn during World War One. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 9.5.1917, aged 19. He is buried at Henin Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France.
Further Info: b. Earl Shilton 1897.Son of Harry and Ellen Whitmore of Glenely Hill Street Hinckley. Ex pupil Hinckley Grammar School and Chorister at St Mary's Church, Hinckley. He died six weeks after arriving in France.
