Enlisted at Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire early in November 1914. Initially served with the 5th Bn and was later transferred to the 1st Bn. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 18.10.1916, aged 19. He is commemorated on Thiepval Somme, France.
Further info: Born in Ashby-de-la-Zouch where he worked as a delivery boy in a Ironmonger's shop.
