Biography :

Home address given as Downham. Enlisted at Chelmsford, Essex and served with the 7th Bn Leicestershire Regiment in WW1. Wounded in the right thigh 22.9.1916. Considered unfit for further Military Service but was later to serve in the Labour Corps as Private 228402. He died of pneumonia in a Military Hospital in Grimsby on 5.11.1918. He is buried at Downham (St. Margaret) Churchyard, Essex.
