Biography :

Tom (or Thomas) White enlisted 24.11.1897 at Leicester into the York & Lancaster Regiment and served with them in South Africa and India. Discharged to the reserve 4.1.1906 and from the service (time served) 23.11.1909.

For World War one, he served with the 6th Bn, the Leicestershire Regiment and was killed in action France and Flanders campaign 11.4.1917, aged 43. He is buried at Henin Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de France.

The photo shows him in the uniform of the York & Lancaster Regiment, wearing his Boer War Medals.
