Home address listed as Bardon Hill, Leicestershire. Enlisted at Coalville. Served with the 9th Bn during World War One. Died in France and Flanders campaign 28.10.1917, aged 35. He is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge, Belgium. Formerly 48675 North Staffordshire Regiment.

Further info: It is understood that he died on 28th October 1917 from Ptomaine Poisoning. He arrived in France on October 2nd 1917 with the north staff regiment and joined the 9th service Leicester regiment about seven days later.
