Enlisted at Loughborough. Served with 2nd Bn during World War One. Appointed acting Corporal 19.5.1915 and 3.6.1915. Sick to hospital 16.6.1915, rejoined 13.7.1915. To be paid Lance Corporal as of 21.6.1915. Appointed Corporal August 1915. missing after operations 25.9.1915, and later reported killed in action 25.9.1915, aged 28. He is commemorated on Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
