Biography :
Enlisted in the Leicester Military District into the Leicestershire Regiment, 1898. Served in South Africa. Recipient of the Queen's South Africa medal with Transvaal and South Africa 1902 clasps.
Re-enlisted 27.8.1914 at Loughborough from the Special Reserve age 31 years 9 months. Served with the 2nd Bn during World War One. Disembarked France 15.12.1914. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 13.3.1915. He is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
