Biography :
Commissioned into The Sherwood Foresters on 21.9.1940. Served in its 14th Bn in North Africa 1941-43. Transferred to 2nd Leicesters in 1943 and served as a Company commanded in 2/5th Bn in Italy, Greece, and Austria, Awarded the M.C. as a companay commander for his actions at Piraeus, Athens, on 8 Dec 1944 (L.G. 10.5.1945). Demobilised in 1946.
