Biography :
Served as Sergeant with The Leicestershire Regiment in World War One. Later served as 360008 CSM/ Acting RQMS with the 22nd Northumberland Fusiliers. It is with this Regiment that he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal. He also was awarded the Defence medal and British War medal. He died in about 1970-1971. His medals and ephemera are in the collection of Leicester City Museums Service.
