Biography :

Served with Leicestershire Regiment during World War Two. Released Class 'A' 13.12.1945 and Class 'Z' (T) Army Reserve 18.3.1946.

Harry Mayes Stallard served in the Leicestershire Chindits and was stationed in Burma. He did his training at Redcar in Yorkshire and sailed to India. His convoy sailed within 10 miles of New York to avoid German Submarines which lay in wait off the coast of Portugal. The ship stopped off at Cape Town en-route to India. He held the rank of Company Sergeant.
