Appointed Paid Lance Corporal 21.6.1915, and appointed in August 1915. Killed in action France and Flanders campaign 25.9.1915. He is buried at Rue-des-Berceaux Military Cemetery, Richebourg-L'Avoue, Pas de Calais, France.
