Biography :
Enlisted at Coalville, Leicestershire. Home address given as Redditch, Worcestershire. Served with the 2nd Bn during World War One. Sick to hospital 18.6.1915, and rejoined 22.6.1915. Killed in action Mesopotamia 22.2.1916, aged 35. He is on the Basra Memorial, Iraq. Previously served in the Boer War as Private 5489 2nd Northamptonshire Regiment. His Queen's South Africa and King's South Africa medals three First World War campaign medals and memorium plaque are in the collection of City Museums Service.
