Educated at Oakham School, Arthur Pollard was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in The Leicestershire Regiment on 21.9.1940. Served in 1st Bn. Awarded the Croix de Guerre with Vermillion Star (France) in 1944 for his action as a Company Commander, 1st Leicesters, Vimont, France, 16 Aug 1944, and a Mentioned in Despatches (L.G. 10.5.1945). Died in 1970. Photo is of him in Rugby Team at Oakham School 1938.
