Biography :
Home address given as Sileby, Leicestershire. Enlisted at Leicester. Edward Perkins was serving in 2nd Bn in India before the First World War, and as a Cpl he entered France in that Bn on 12.10.1914. Later transferred to 7th Bn and by 1916 had reached the rank of CSM. On 14.7.1916 in the attack at Bazentin Ridge his leg was shot off and he died in hospital four days later, aged 25. He is buried at St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen, France.
