Home address given as Leicester. Served with Leicestershire Regiment in the 1900s and during World War One. Various medals awarded to Sergeant Newcombe are on display in this museum . They consist of; Military Medal (MM) and bar (see London Gazette page 10482 and 17.6.1919 page 7642), 1914 Star, War medal, Victory medal, Army Temperance Association medals, and four sporting medals received in India between 1907-1911 for cricket, rugby, and association football.
