Biography :
Francis Newbould was member of the Northamptonshire Yeomanry (TA). He was attached to the Burma Rifles in the Second World War. He was awarded the M.C. for his actions as a Detachment Commander, 7th Leicesters (Chindits),Tatlwin, Burma, 16 Apr 1944. He relinquished his commission on 11.9.1948, and was granted the hon. rank of Captain. He relinquished his hon rank of captain in 1949 on enlistment in the ranks (TA) (L.G. 20.12.1949).
His second name might have been Bennett.
