Biography :

Enlisted 3.6.1901 into the Regiment's 3rd Bn and served until 16.3.1903 when he transfered to the Northumberland Fusiliers where he served with their 2nd Bn. For WW1 he enlisted at Leicester 4.12.1915 and served with the Leicestershire Regiment's 11th Bn and 7th Bn during World War One, entering France 17.11.1916. Died of wounds in France and Flanders campaign 28.10.1917, aged 34. He is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge, Belgium.
